Happy New Year everyone! I noticed that in 2011, I wrote 50 blog posts. In 2012, the number dwindled down to 20. Post baby life is wonderful but I spend a lot more time gooing and gahing. And I’m left with much less time or motivation to write. Do any of you have New Year’s Resolutions? My resolution for 2013 is to write a book. That was my resolution in 2011…and 2010…and I believe 2009 too. Oh boy…
While I’d love to publish a book before I turn 30 (in May!), I’m thinking my goal should really be PROGRESS instead of PUBLISH. I have done quite a bit of writing actually in the last 7 years, not only on my blog but on the side as I have been striving towards this goal. In order to get some progress, I thought I’d share it with you all a little more so I have more accountability. I also wanted to ask you for some opinions since the more minds the better. I need your opinions, your perspective and your oh-so-awesome ideas!!! Here we go:
The purpose of my book: I started this blog because I wanted to help people (specifically those under 35?) view older people differently. Thus, my goal is to give perspective so that we as people would love and care for the elderly in our lives a lot more.
What’s your opinion? When I first started my blog, I emailed a bunch of friends, mentors, family and more to ask what they would be interested in reading. I got GREAT feedback.
Now I have plenty of my own ideas, but who knows if they’re any good. What would you be interested in reading? My stories of growing up with my grandparents? The tough things? The best things? My ideas of how to improve relationships with seniors? My past work experience? How to work in the senior care industry? Would you want to know more knowledge about the elderly? In essence, what do you want to know about? And what would you read about?
Please do comment or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know your thoughts. I’m excited to hear them, so don’t be shy!
